M. A. Mortenson, The Construction Organization, Colorado Springs, Colo., is being awarded a $19,989,760 firm-fixed-price contract for Aircraft Maintenance Hangars, Phase 1, at Naval Air Station, Norfolk. The work to be performed provides for the demolition of existing hangars and construction of two new one-module, Type 1 Modified Aircraft Maintenance Hangars (E-2C) on reinforced concrete pile foundations and all incidental related work. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by November 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 66 proposals solicited and six offers received. The DD 21 Alliance, comprised of Bath Iron Works Corp. (BIW), Bath, Maine, and Ingalls Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, Miss., is being awarded a $7,067,997 modification to previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00024-98-9-2300) for an additional increment of funding under the advance agreement for the extension of the DD 21 Phase II Period of Performance. The extension advance agreement (Modification 0031) was executed on April 2, 2001, at a funded value of $11,921,048 and a "not to exceed" value of $28,975,680. This modification increases the funded value to $18,989,045. BIW has been selected by the DD 21 Alliance to lead the Alliance and execute this modification. Work will be performed by the "Blue Team"(37.5%) led by BIW, Bath, Maine, with Lockheed Martin Government Electronic Systems, Moorestown, N.J.; the "Gold Team" (37.5%) led by Ingalls Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, MS with Raytheon Systems Co., Falls Church, Va.; and United Defense Limited Partnership (UDLP), Minneapolis, Minn. (25%), and is expected to be completed by May 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Washington Gas Energy Services, Herndon, Va., is being awarded a $19,191,187 firm-fixed-price type contract for an electricity contract for various U.S. Naval facilities in the District of Columbia. There were 14 proposals solicited, and only one response was received. Work will be performed at the District of Columbia Navy Public Works Center - Marine Barracks and District of Columbia Naval Research Lab and is expected to be completed by December 2004. Funds will expire at the end of FY 2001. The Defense Energy Support Center, Ft. Belvoir, Va., is the contracting agency (SP0600-01-G-8020/D.O. 0002).

Premier Professional Systems Inc.*, Huntsville, Ala., is being awarded a $9,777,902 task order amount of as part of firm-fixed-price contract DAAE07-98-D-T064 to modify 32,000 M939 fleet vehicles (5-ton trucks) to add the automated braking system in kit form to the entire fleet. Radial tires may also be put on the basic models. The task order includes management services and installation of half of the kits and tires. The contractor is also responsible for purchasing, storing and shipping the material. This third program year quantity is 5,500 vehicles. Work will be performed at various locations inside and outside of the continental U.S. where the vehicles are located. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 23, 1999. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity.

Day & Zimmerman Inc., Philadelphia, Pa., is being awarded an $8,293,558 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for M77 grenade recovery and re-fuze. The contractor shall recover M77 grenades from rocket pods contained within suspended lot Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) rocket pods stored at the Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. The effort consists of downloading rockets from the rocket pods, demating the warheads from the motors, removing the grenades from the warheads, removal of the M223 fuze and re-fuzing the body loading assembly with new, left-hand threaded M223 fuzes for Korea. Work will be performed at the Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant, Texarkana, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Feb. 22, 2001. The U.S. Army Operations Support Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (DAAA09-99-G-0006).

AIL Systems Inc., Long Island, N.Y., is being awarded a $5,047,755 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for repair of various components applicable to the AN/ALQ-161A Electronic Countermeasures System for the B-1B aircraft. AIL Systems will perform this effort in Deer Park, N.Y. Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is the contracting activity (09603-98-D-0083-0041).
