BALLISTIC MISSILE DEFENSE ORGANIZATION

Utah State University/Space Dynamics Laboratory (USU/SDL), North Logan, Utah, is being awarded a $67.9 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (HQ0006-00-D-0006) to continue efforts in sensor development and in the conduct of international cooperative technology experiments in sensor-related areas. The Ballistic Missile Defense Organization is the contracting activity. The period of performance is from June 2000 through June 2005. Work will be performed in North Logan, Utah. USU/SDL is a Department of Defense University Affiliated Research Center.

AIR FORCE

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Pittsburgh, Pa., is being awarded a $217,480,241 (maximum) cost-reimbursement contract to provide for software research and development support through June 2005 in support of a range of Department of Defense and non-Department of Defense government-sponsored programs. The major mission areas of this effort are system survivability, product line practice, architecture analysis, model integration, and commercial-off-the-shelf based systems. Expected contract completion date is June 30, 2005. Solicitation issue date was June 30, 1999. Negotiation completion date was May 5, 2000. Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB, Mass., is the contracting activity (F19628-00-C-0003).

Raytheon Systems Company, Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded an $8,726,920 option to a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract which extends the Advanced Tactical Targeting Technology program through Aug. 1, 2002. The objective of this program is to design, develop, and demonstrate a passive targeting system for the lethal suppression of enemy air defenses. Expected contract completion date is Aug. 1, 2002. Solicitation issue date was June 5, 1998. Negotiation completion date was June 1, 2000. Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33615-98-C-1373-P00005).

Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, is being awarded an $8,505,174 cost-reimbursement contract to provide for research and development support in the area of materials for high speed electrical/electronic devices in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Paterson AFB, Ohio. Expected contract completion date is Sept. 30, 2005. Solicitation issue date was June 18, 1999. Negotiation completion date was May 1, 2000. Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33615-00-C-5402).

ARMY

Superconductor Technologies Inc.*, Santa Barbara, Calif., was awarded a $1,703,232 increment as part of an $11,447,177 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract on June 14, 2000. The contractor will perform exploratory development of HTS and cryogenics technologies for military RF and microwave systems. Work will be performed in Santa Barbara, Calif., and is expected to be completed by June 12, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were six bids solicited on Dec. 21, 1999, and four bids were received. The U.S. Army Intelligence Center, Fort Huachuca, Ariz., is the contracting activity (DABT63-00-C-1030).
