Subject: FedSelect Checks
The purpose of this FAM is to inform the bureaus of the FedSelect
Check product offered by the U.S. Treasury, Financial Management
Service. Attached is a Fact Sheet on the program for your
information. While not cited in the attached information, it is our
understanding that the FedSelect Checks are considerably less costly
(appox. $0.25 per check) than Third Party Drafts. Third Party Drafts
can cost over $1.00 per draft. Therefore, we encourage you, as soon
as possible, to take a close look at the FedSelect Checks as a
replacement. After your review of the attached information and
perhaps discuss with FMS, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on
the FedSelect Program and when your bureau would be interested in
implementing the program or pilot.
