CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Heeter Construction, Spencer, West Virginia, is being awarded a $2,000,000 increment as part of a $9,425,842 firm fixed price contract for construction of approximately 22,300 LF of earth levee, 1,250 LF of mechanically stabilized earth wall, and 2 single-swing-gate railroad closure structures for local flood protection. Work will be performed in Moorefield, West Virginia, and is expected to be completed by February 12, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Electric Boat Corporation, Groton, Connecticut, is being awarded a $1,468,800,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee letter contract for development of design and technical documentation for the New Attack Submarine (NSSN) Program and long lead time material for the lead ship of the NSSN Class. Work will be performed in Groton, Connecticut, and is expected to be completed by December 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Hughes Aircraft Mississippi, Incorporated, Forest, Mississippi, is being awarded an $11,524,233 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with firm-fixed-price provisions for engineering support to provide retrofit kits to modify the Mk660 Mod 1 Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to upgrade it to the Mk660 Mod 2 ATE in support of the Heavyweight Torpedo Test Equipment Upgrade Program. Work will be performed in Middletown, Rhode Island (65%), and Forest, Mississippi (35%), and is expected to be completed in January 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with three proposals solicited and two offers received.
