NAVY

The Whiting Turner Contracting Company, Baltimore, Md., is being awarded a $28,928,984 firm-fixed-price contract for repair and rehabilitation of Bancroft Hall, Wing 5, at the United States Naval Academy. This contract contains options which, if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $63,228,984. Work will be performed in Annapolis, Md., and is expected to be completed by August 2001. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with two offers solicited. The Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, DC, is the contracting activity (N62477-98-C-0065).

Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $10,455,515 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for developing and demonstrating a cost effective long range projectile, which will be used in the MK 45 5" gun weapon system. Work will be performed in McLean, Va., and is expected to be completed by May 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured under a Broad Agency Announcement. The Office of Naval Research, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00014-00-C-0094).

AIR FORCE

McDonnell Douglas Corp., Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $16,100,370 modification to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for the Period Four (October 1999-March 2000) Earned Award Fee for performance of the flexible sustainment effort in support of the C-17 aircraft. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-97-C-0008-P00107).

The Boeing Company, Canoga Park, Calif., is being awarded a $16,000,000 (maximum) cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide for the Laser Analysis and Testing for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Hybrid Applications program.. This program comprises research, development, and demonstration through May 2004 of advanced laser and electro-optical technologies that are applicable to Air Force and Department of Defense programs. These applications include: satellite imaging and operations; remote sensing; laser communication; space optics; wavefront control; space based relay mirrors; space based laser; beam control, acquisition, pointing, and tracking; and active countermeasures. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. The Air Force can issue delivery orders totaling up to the maximum value indicated above, though actual requirements may necessitate less than that amount. Expected contract completion date is May 31, 2004. Solicitation issue date was April 27, 1999. Negotiation completion date was May 10, 2000. Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland AFB, NM, is the contracting activity (F29601-00-D-0060).

Lockheed Martin Corp., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $7,441,648 modification to a cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to extend by fifteen months the engineering and manufacturing (EMD) phase of the Common Configuration Implementation Program (CCIP) supporting the F-16 aircraft. This effort also incorporated into the CCIP hardware designs associated with High Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) Targeting System improvements and ensures Radio Frequency compatibility of the Link 16 datalink with F-16 on-board systems. Expected contract completion date is March 31, 2003. Negotiation completion date is April 13, 2000. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657099-C-0050-P00004).

ARMY

FN Manufacturing Inc., Columbia, S.C., has been awarded $6,584,663 as part of an estimated $49,972,650 firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for 14,835 Rifles (M16A4). Work will be performed in Columbia, S.C., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 10 bids solicited on Dec. 1, 1999, and five bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (DAAE20-00-D-0046).

Raytheon Co., Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $5,265,004 firm-fixed-price contract for 1,050 Generation-1 retrofit of TOW 2B missiles. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 30, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 25, 1999. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH01-00-C-0075).
