AIR FORCE

Boeing Defense and Space Group, Seattle, Wash., is being awarded a $5,062,861 modification to a fixed-price-incentive contract, F19628-97-C-0112-P00015, to provide for engineering and manufacturing development of multi-sensor integration-electronic surveillance measures and platform specific processing improvements and administrative refinement of baseline specifications in support of the E-3A Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. This effort supports foreign military sales to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Expected contract completion date is July 2001. Negotiation completion date was June 30, 1999. Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB, Mass., is the contracting activity.

ARMY

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Higgerson-Buchanan Inc., Chesapeake, Va., is being awarded a $500,000 increment as part of a $7,764,593 firm-fixed-price contract for raising the dike at Eagle Island Calls 2 and 3, and Island 13. The project includes excavation and grading, dike embankment construction, placing geotextile fabric and geogrid, and related services. Work will be performed in Brunswick and New Hanover Counties, Wilmington, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 103 bids solicited on June 25, 1999, and ten bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington, N.C., is the contracting activity (DACW54-99-C-0022).

NAVY

Bill Harbert Construction Co.,* Birmingham, Ala., is being awarded a $22,384,450 firm-fixed-price contract for the alteration/additions and life safety upgrades to Naval Hospital, Pensacola, Fla. The work includes construction of a 73,000 square foot clinic in an area adjacent to the existing hospital, alterations within all eight floors of the existing hospital and the addition of a 200 ton chiller. Work will be performed in Pensacola, Fla., and is expected to be completed

by December 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 58 proposals solicited and four offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Division, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N62467-97-C-0805).

Lincoln Builders, Inc., Ruston, La., is being awarded an $8,339,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a one-story, high-bay physical fitness center at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. The center will include a mezzanine level jogging track and mechanical areas combined with support, administration, and activity spaces. Work will be performed in Barksdale, La., and is expected to be completed by September 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 23 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southern Division, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N62467-98-C-1109).
