CONTRACTS

ARMY

Hughes Aircraft Company Electro-Optical Systems, El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $12,897,092 firm fixed price contract for Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) of NV-80 B-Kit for the Second Generation Forward Looking Infrared and Production of the Thermal Imaging System (TIS). Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif. (60%), and La Grange, Ga. (40%), and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Dec. 17, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-97-C-1430)

NAVY

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded a $5,748,700 firm-fixed-price order for the CH-60 helicopter vertical replenishment demonstration. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed by December 1997. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00019-96-G-0022).

McDonnell Aircraft Corp., McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded an $8,625,158 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-96-C-0146 to provide additional funding for long lead spare and repair parts in support of the Royal Thailand Air Force's F/A-18C/D aircraft. This equipment is being bought for the Government of Thailand under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (67%), and Hawthorne, Calif. (33%), and is expected to be completed by September 1999. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Denarde Construction Co.,* Fallbrook, Calif., is being awarded an $8,750,096 firm-fixed-price contract for repairs and improvements to 101 Capehart Family Housing Units at Naval Air Weapons Station, Point Mugu. Calif. Work will be performed in Point Mugu, Calif., and is expected to be completed by July 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 122 proposals solicited and nine offers received. The Engineering Field Activity West, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, San Bruno, Calif., is the contracting activity (N62474-95-C-2876).

Perini International Corp./D&M General Contractors, Inc., (a joint venture), Framingham, Mass., is being awarded a $6,563,330 firm-fixed-price delivery order for the demolition of an existing building, the design and construction of a 78 person three-story 30,000 square foot Honor Guard Dormitory, and a one-story 5,500 square foot Training Facility at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. Work will be performed in Washington, D.C., and is expected to be completed by October 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured with 54 proposals solicited and 11 offers received. The Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N62477-96-C-0055).

AIR FORCE

Systems Research Laboratories, Inc., Dayton, Ohio, is being awarded a $24,000,000 cost plus fixed fee contract to provide for the Electromagnetic Radiation Research of the Bioeffects of Directed Energy. The contractor will perform quality research and technical support related to health and safety standards for human exposure to directed energies and human vulnerabilities to such exposure. The work will be performed at Armstrong Laboratory, Brooks AFB, Texas. Contract is expected to be completed March 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 69 firms solicited and 1 proposal received. Solicitation began December 1996; negotiations were completed March 1997. Human Systems Center, Brooks AFB, Texas, is the contracting activity ( F41624-96/C- 9009).

Boeing North American, Inc., Canoga Park, Calif., is being awarded a $49,700,000 cost plus fixed fee contract to provide research and development support for the Development of Integrated Component Experiments (DICE) program. DICE will develop technologies to demonstrate advanced experimental vehicles to prove space control objectives in ground and space flight testing. Contract is expected to be completed June 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one firm solicited and one proposal received. Negotiations were completed March 1997. Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04611- 97/C-0082).

Reza, Inc., Santa Fe Springs, Calif., is being awarded a $5,962,000 firm fixed price contract to provide for repair and renovation of modular dormitories in Buildings 13320-13323 at Vandenberg AFB, Calif. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 28 firms solicited and 4 proposals received. Solicitation began January 1997; negotiations were completed February 1997. The 30th Contracting Squadron, Vandenberg, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04684- 97/C-0017).
