AIR FORCE

Metatech Corp., Goleta, Calif., is being awarded a $49,000,000 indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity contract modification to provide for technical support for the Air Force Research Laboratory Satellite Assessment Center's efforts and assessments and predictions of the effects of various energy and physical phenomena on satellites. This includes maintaining detailed knowledge and understanding of the physics, engineering, operation, and function of imaging sensors and the exploitation of their data types. The contractor shall augment technical and engineering expertise in the following major areas: gathering, analyzing, modeling information; systems assessments, and computer science support. The Air Force can issue delivery orders totaling up to the maximum indicated above, though actual requirements may necessitate less than the amount indicated above. Metatech Corp. will perform this effort in Goleta, Calif. and The Air Force Research Laboratory, Directed Energy Directorate, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. At this time, $500,000 of the funds has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be completed by January 2010. Solicitation began September 2002 and negotiations were completed in December 2002. Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., is the contracting activity (F29601-03-D-0116).

The Boeing Co., Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is being awarded a $17,392,477 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, time and material contract to provide for induction of aircraft and manufacturing preparation for modification of one C-130 cargo aircraft to the current AC-130U gunship configuration. At this time, $13,044,357 of the funds has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be completed by April 2003. The solicitation began in October 2002 and negotiations were completed in January 2003. The Headquarters Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-02-C-2037).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

U.S. Foodservice, Lexington, S.C., is being awarded a $27,500,000 firm-fixed-price with indefinite quantity type of contract for prime vendor food and beverage support for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. This contract is exercising its fourth year option. The performance completion date is Jan. 24, 2004. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 133 proposals solicited and five responded. The contracting activity is the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (SPM300-03-D-2964).

NAVY

The Boeing Co., BCM3 & Strategic Systems Div., Anaheim, Calif., is being awarded a $5,300,000 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-02-C-4009) for AN and USQ-82(V) Fiber Optic Data Multiplex System (FODMS) design agent and technical engineering services. FODMS and DMS are both modular general-purpose multiplexing systems capable of transferring the majority of internal data signals found aboard DDG-51 class ships. Work will be performed in Anaheim and is to be completed by February 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
