ARINC Inc., San Diego is being awarded a $5,729,103 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity contract for the evolutionary development of the Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI), to include technical support of the development of new interface and display requirements, and new NAVSSI system configurations. Tasking may also include system updates in response to fleet-generated trouble reports, to include hardware, software and firmware solutions to assigned problems. This contract includes options, which if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $9,826,613. Work will be performed in San Diego and is to be completed by January 2006. Spectrum Astro Inc., Gilbert, Ariz., is being awarded a cost-plus-award-fee contract modification to deliver a spacecraft and perform mission integration necessary to collect Near Field Infra-Red Experiment data for the Kinetic Energy Interceptors Program. The spacecraft will perform a series of near field infra-red engagements primarily collecting plume, hardbody and background data to develop homing algorithms for boost phase endgame and models supporting the development of a boost and ascent phase capability. The period of performance for this award is from January 2003 through Aug. 15, 2004. The value of this contract modification is not to exceed $34,400,000.
