Bell-Boeing Program Office, Patuxent River, Md., is being awarded a $23,200,000 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract (N00019-93-C-0006) to provide additional funding for non-recurring engineering design efforts in support of the MV-22 engineering and manufacturing development program. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (50 percent) and Ridley Park, Pa. (50 percent) and is to be completed in December 2008. General Electric Co., Cincinnati is being awarded a $7,277,400 ceiling-priced modification to previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (N00421-99-C-1479) to conduct an integrated high performance turbine engine technology program demonstration effort to improve engine thrust-to-weight ratio and fuel consumption. Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass. (80 percent) and Cincinnati (20 percent), and is to be completed in September 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Rolling Meadows, Ill., is being awarded a $7,248,401 cost-plus award-fee contract modification. This modification will be an undefinitized contractual action that was initialized as a result of a Combat Mission Need Statement issued by Air Mobility Command for Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) capability. The purpose of this effort is to establish a contract to design, develop, test, and deliver infrared countermeasure capability for the C-17 as rapidly as possible. The project shall design, develop, and test a single transmitter configuration (BOSS) of the Large Aircraft IRCM (LAIRCM) system, consisting of 1 BOSS Processor (LAIRCM Processor) minus 2 Interface Technique Generators and 2 Video Processors, 1 Control Indicator Unit, 1 Small Laser Transmitter Assembly, 6 Ultraviolet Missile Warning Subsystems Sensors, and 2 Repeaters, BOSS system shall be provided to Boeing-Long Beach, along with installation support, to outfit up to 12 C-17s with the BOSS configuration. BOSS ship sets shall be built up from available LAIRCM hardware, and hardware configuration and the LAIRCM Program Office is able to arrange through other programs, to the maximum extent possible. The BOSS configuration is intended to be an interim configuration until the baseline LAIRCM program reconfigures the BOSS C-17s with the standard LAIRCM configuration. The effort will also include some of the following: 1) Re-direct and procure hardware to outfit up to 12 C-17 aircraft with the BOSS configuration, 2) Modify and configure software to operate BOSS system with the currently installed ALE-47 dispenser system, 3) Upgrade 508 UK Mod processors to the LAIRCM, 4) prepare abbreviated test plan and generate interim Safety of Flight certification paperwork, 5) provide BOSS training for aircrews and maintainers, 6) drawing and configuration updates to reflect BOSS requirements, 7) provide deployable field service representatives for field training and support. At this time, $3,624,200 of the funds has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be completed by March 2004. Manson Construction Co., Seattle was awarded a $10,000 increment as part of a $6,147,500 firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance dredging of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet Jan. 8, 2003.
