ARMY

Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc., Sealy, Texas, is being awarded a $184,890,653 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for delivery of 1,578 Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles in various 2.5 and 5 to weight class. Work will be performed in Sealy, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 1998. Contracts funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 3 bids solicited on Sept. 20, 1990, and 3 bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren Mich. (DAAE07-92-C-R001).

Boeing North American Inc., Rocketdyne Division, Canoga Park, Calif., is being awarded a $35,000,000 increment as part of a $43,900,000 cost plus incentive fee completion letter contract. The need for an early anti-satellite (ASAT) capability was defined as a result of the growing spread of space based photography which led to a concern that hostile satellite reconnaissance could be used against the United States and allied military forces in the future. The U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command has been developing, demonstrating, and integrating the advanced technologies needed for this type of capability. These technologies have been integrated into a prototype kill vehicle and weapon control subsystem for early demonstration of an ASAT capability under a prior contract. This follow-on effort will develop an operational weapon control subsystem; and define/integrate subsystem technologies to demonstrate hit-to-kill performance, with debris mitigation, against hostile satellites. The option would add two flight test demonstrations of the system with subsequent data collection and reduction after each test. Work will be performed in Canoga Park, Calif. (57%); Richardson, Texas (8%); San Pedro, Calif. (4.5%); and other various small subcontractors (30.5%)., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 22, 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Jan. 17, 1997. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, Huntsville, Ala. (DASG60-97-C-0039).

GenCorp Aeroiet, Azusa, Calif., is being awarded a $6,600,000 increment as part of a $46,748,087 cost-plus-award-fee contract for Product Improvement (PI) to the baseline Sense and Destroy Armor (SADARM) Projectile. Work will be performed in Azusa, Calif., and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Aug. 22, 1996. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank Automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. (DAAE30-97-C-1017).

C O R R E C T I O N

Contract announcement DAAE07-97-D-X001, Feb. 21, 1997, should have stated that Grove North America, Shady Grove, Pa., was being awarded $7,771,369 as part of an estimated $42,655,000 five year fixed price requirements contract for 20-ton all-terrain cranes, grapples, clamshells, and data requirements. Contract announcement DACA05-97-C-0081, Feb. 21, 1997, release date was in error and is changed to Feb. 24, 1997.

NAVY

Hughes Missile Systems Co., Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $5,086,470 modification to previously awarded contract N00019- 94-C-0257 to exercise an option for 89 Tomahawk Cruise Missile recertification of surface ship, torpedo tube launch and capsule launch system missiles. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by September 1999. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

Science Application International Corp., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $8,216,743 cost plus fixed fee contract to provide advisory and assistance services through March 2002 for the Kinetic Kill Vehicle Hardware in the Loop Simulator, at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Science Applications International Corp., Shalimar, Fla. Contract is expected to be completed March 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 14 firms solicited and 2 proposals received. Solicitation began December 1996; negotiations were completed February 1997. Aeronautical Systems Center, Eglin AFB, Fla. is the contracting activity (F08630-97, C-0025). CORRECTION: On February 19, we reported a contract award to General Electric for $17,185,838. We incorrectly stated the the contract was for 19 F118-GE-100 flight test engines for the B-2. The contract is for 29 engines. We also incorrectly stated this was a foreign military sale to Saudi Arabia. There is no foreign military sale associated with this contract.
