Laboratory Spaces


The NOAA Ship DISCOVERER offers scientist and observers alike a unique opportunity to learn about and work in remote regions of the Pacific Ocean. The ship has available 3,400 square feet of wet and dry oceanographic lab space. All sinks have hot and cold fresh water plus ship's service seawater. Lab faucets have female 3/8" NPT ends. Gas cylinder racks will hold AMF size current meters. Most of lab has 1/2-13 tie-down points on 24" centers. Eight 28"x72" benches can be bolted to deck in 24"X48" deck pattern. Ship's service compressed air outlet is adjacent to fwd bulkhead of the Oceanographic Lab and can be routed to other locations as needed. The watertight doors and hatches have rounded corners.
