Biography:

Larry H. Weber is Director of the Office of International Science and Engineering (OISE) at the National Science Foundation.  Since joining NSF in 1987, Weber has also served as a Program Manager in OISE, twice as Head of the NSF Tokyo Office, and as OISE Acting Deputy Director.  In 1999-2000, Weber was a fellow in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he worked on issues related to global change, carbon sequestration, polar research, ocean science, and environmental education.


Before joining NSF, Weber was a research oceanographer at Texas A&M University, with international collaborations on projects in the Antarctic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

Weber received a B.S. in Biology from Brigham Young University - Hawaii Campus, and a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from Texas A&M University.
