Region 9 Environmental Information Center/Library Services

The mission of the Region 9 Environmental Information Center/Library is to support the information needs of EPA Region 9 staff and the people of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, the Pacific Islands and Tribal Nations.

EPA Region 9's EIC/Library is open to the public. We are located at:
75 Hawthorne Street
San Francisco, CA   94105

Visitors must register at the guard desk in the lobby before proceeding to the EIC/Library. Hawthorne Street is parallel to, and in between, 2nd and 3rd Streets, and between Howard and Folsom Streets. It is conveniently located three blocks from the Montgomery Street BART and MUNI Station (see visitor information for more specific directions).

Borrowing Policy and Interlibrary Loans

Borrowing privileges are generally limited to EPA staff, other libraries, and local businesses / organizations with established borrowing arrangements.

To locate EPA library and repository materials, you can search the Online Library System (OLS), EPA Libraries’ online catalog.  If you have any questions, please call or e-mail the library.

Information For Other Libraries: We freely share materials with other libraries via the OCLC Interlibrary Loan system. Our OCLC symbol is ERA and we are members of FEDL (Federal Libraries and Information Centers) and LVIS (Libraries Very Interested in Sharing). For libraries that do not have OCLC access, please contact the Librarian at (415) 947-4406 or library-reg9@epa.gov for alternate methods.
