Organics: GreenScapes

National Information
Region 9 Resources

Landscaping is used everyday throughout the world to make our developed communities more aesthetically pleasing. While landscaping makes our yards and parks more visually enjoyable, it often has considerable economical and environmental costs. By making simple changes to these landscapes to make them "GreenScapes," one can save time, money and resources while still preventing pollution.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency developed the GreenScapes Alliance program to promote safer, more sustainable landscaping practices that protect our environment and provide beautiful outdoor areas. GreenScapes encourages more holistic decisions regarding the interactions of land, water, air and energy use and how landscaping can work to reduce associated impacts.

GreenScapes is a free partnership that provides opportunities for both allies and partners, thus accommodating businesses of all sizes. Learn more about the GreenScapes Alliance or apply to join the program.
