Funding Announcement Guidance for Available FY-08 Tribal
Funding under Section 103 of the CLEAN AIR ACT

Overview

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 9 has available approximately $2,500,000 of total federal funds for grants for the purpose of funding tribal air pollution control programs and projects which support tribal air quality assessment and the development of tribal air program capacity. Region 9 anticipates awarding approximately 20 grant agreements to eligible applicants carrying out projects that serve the lands in Indian Country which fall under EPA, Region 9's geographic area for work to be completed in one year.

The EPA authority for this program is the Clean Air Act (CAA), 42 U.S.C. ยง 7403. The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance Number is 66.034. All funded activities must be related to air pollution and/or air pollution control. In addition, the goal of these grants is to assist tribes in developing the capacity to manage their own air quality programs in accordance with their individual needs. Grants awarded under this program are governed by administrative requirements under 40 CFR Part 31. There is no matching requirement for this program.
