Why Europe?

europe

The creation of the European Union, is considered by many historians and analysts as the most significant economic development since World War II.

The United States and the European Union have the largest trading relationship in the world. Each year, over $375 billion in goods and services cross the Atlantic. This trade has been relatively balanced, without the enormous deficits that weigh down U.S. trade with China and Japan.

The European Economic Area (EEA) and European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) allowing the free trade of goods once inside Western Europe and the creation of a Euro-zone spanning 11 countries of Europe have significantly bolstered trade between the U.S. and the E.U.

Central and Eastern Europe, following closely in the E.U.'s wake, are rapidly becoming vibrant economies with high demand for U.S. products and services.

The Commercial Service, taking advantage of these market features, offers regional support in the form of Quicktake and Showcase Europe.
