Juvenile salmon tracking study
		U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists are releasing thousands of tagged juvenile salmon into the Sacramento River as part of the largest-ever study of how the fish migrate through California’s inland waterways to the ocean. Day in the Delta
		Twenty-four teachers from throughout Northern California spent a "day in the Delta" with USGS scientists. The teachers heard about issues in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and about how USGS science is addressing those issues. They also learned new ways to bring science to their classrooms. The teach-in was a presentation of Project Wet, part of the Water Education Foundation.

USGS Webcam captures images of flash flood

Sudden and torrential rainfall on hillsides left bare by last fall's wildfires caused dangerous flash flooding in several Orange County canyons on Thursday, May 22. A USGS Webcam, installed in December, captured the rush of water and debris in Modjeska Canyon starting shortly after noon. The video shows photos taken every 30 seconds from noon to 1 p.m. To view the Webcam.
