MAY 04-- Steven W. Derr, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and Nora R. Dannehy, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that KENDALL WALLACE, also known as “Henny,” 28, of Hartford, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 120 months of imprisonment, followed by eight years of supervised release. On January 22, 2009, WALLACE pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, five grams or more of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”).

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, on August 15, 2008, WALLACE sold approximately 29 grams of crack cocaine in exchange for $800 in cash. This purchase was recorded and surveilled by law enforcement officers.

WALLACE has been detained since his arrest on September 22, 2008.

This matter has been investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hartford Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan S. Freimann.

The Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative is aimed at reducing gang and gun violence, deterring illegal possession of guns, and improving the safety of residents of Connecticut’s cities. Participants in the initiative include community members and organizations as well as federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
