What is Waste Minimization?

Waste Minimization is a multi-media environmental management technique that emphasizes the reduction of wastes at the source (includes recycling).

The objective of the EPA Region 3 Waste Minimization Program is to help hazardous waste generators minimize or eliminate their waste at the source.  This will reduce potential threats to human health and the environment.  This approach can actually help generators to change their generator status or to cease from being regulated under the RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) regulations.
