Performance Track Home

Important News: EPA has decided to halt the Performance Track program, effective immediately. Performance Track members, states, and endorser network partners will receive further instruction.
Please see the memo from EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson (PDF) (2 pp, 985K) for more details.

Performance Track is a voluntary program for public and private facilities, large or small, based on the idea that government should recognize and reward environmental performance that consistently exceeds regulatory requirements.

Message from the former Regional Administrator

For EPA, “it’s all about trying to find ways to achieve greater protection of public health and the environment – greater environmental results than can be accomplished by traditional regulatory programs.” - John Askew (Nov. 9, 2006 speech).

Performance Track members tell us about. . .

Gaining Recognition for the environmental work they have been doing.

Reducing Costs through their environmental projects.

Reducing Your Environmental Footprint, which leads to a competitive edge.

Regulatory Relief that's available in many states.
