SOUTHERN OR/NORTHERN CA COASTS COHO ESU
THREATENED

ESU STATUS AND DESCRIPTION:  Listed as threatened on May 6, 1997; threatened status reaffirmed on June 28, 2005.  The ESU includes all naturally spawned populations of coho salmon in coastal streams between Cape Blanco, Oregon, and Punta Gorda, California, as well three artificial propagation programs: the Cole Rivers Hatchery (ODFW stock #52), Trinity River Hatchery, and Iron Gate Hatchery coho hatchery programs.

CRITICAL HABITAT STATUS: A final designation was published on May 5, 1999.

PROTECTIVE REGULATIONS:  Final revised protective regulations were issued for this ESU on June 28, 2005.
