CENTRAL VALLEY SPRING-RUN CHINOOK ESU
THREATENED

ESU STATUS AND DESCRIPTION: Listed as a threatened species on September 16, 1999; threatened status reaffirmed on June 28, 2005.  The ESU includes all naturally spawned populations of spring-run Chinook salmon in the Sacramento River and its tributaries in California, including the Feather River, as well as the Feather River Hatchery spring-run Chinook program.

CRITICAL HABITAT STATUS: A final designation was published on September 2, 2005 (6.2 Mb PDF), with an effective date of January 2, 2006.

PROTECTIVE REGULATIONS: Final revised protective regulations were issued for this ESU on June 28, 2005.
