Cooperative Observer Program

These supplemental reports contain information obtained from Cooperative Weather Observers. The information they provide may include high and low temperatures, precipitation, snowfall, snowdepth, water equivalent of the snow pack, and manual river gage readings. This information is vital for both the development of short term meteorological and hydrologic forecasts as well as assessing longer term climate changes. Some of the equipment used by the Coop Observer is displayed below.
