Current Position:
Program Director, Immunobiology of Type 1 Diabetes and Autoimmune Endocrine Diseases
Current Portfolio/Responsibilities:
1) Maintain and foster type 1 diabetes and autoimmune endocrine diseases research through a portfolio of grants on the pathogenic mechanisms and etiology of autoimmunity.
2) Oversee immunological aspects of the activities of Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet, an international consortium of clinical centers and affiliate sites for clinical trials for the prevention and reversal of type 1 diabetes
3) Work with Dr. Guillermo Arreaza-Rubin on management of a contract for testing agents of prevention/ reversal of type 1 diabetes in rodent models of diabetes
