Employees must have approved written, or otherwise recorded, performance plans based on work assignments and responsibilities. The plans must cover the official appraisal period.

Performance plans must be provided to employees at the beginning of each appraisal period, normally within the first sixty days. The plans must include all critical results and related performance indicators.

Each performance plan must have at least one critical result that addresses individual employee performance.

Minimum Performance Period

Performance appraisal programs must contain at least a 90-day minimum period of performance that must be completed before a performance rating may be given.
