Nondisciplinary adverse action is an adverse action taken for reason(s) other than to correct an employee's delinquency or misconduct.

These actions are normally initiated and decided upon by the Servicing Personnel Office (SPO) based on management decisions, for example those resulting from reorganizations, lack of funds, changes to lower grade based on classification determinations, physical or mental inability to perform the duties of the position, and similar actions. The following are the two key nondisciplinary adverse actions:

1.  Furlough for 30 days or less

2.  Change to lower grade due to reclassification
