Statutory Requirements: The statutory requirements in section 302(e) of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, apply to this program. In accordance with section 302(e)(4) of the Act, the award made under this competition must be used for the purpose of providing technical assistance to States or entities receiving grants under a separate competition of the Partnership Training program, which was announced in the Federal Register on February 3, 1997 (62 FR 4988). The award for this competition will be made in the form of a cooperative agreement with an entity that has successfully demonstrated the capacity and expertise in the education, training, and retention of employees to serve individuals with disabilities through the use of consortia or partnerships established for the purpose of retraining the existing work force and providing opportunities for career enhancement.
