Extension of Public Comment Period for the National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit Regulation and Effluent
Limitation Guidelines for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations in
Response to Waterkeeper Decision Proposed Rule
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Proposed rule; extension of the public comment period.

SUMMARY: On Friday, June 30, 2006, the Environmental Protection Agency
published a proposed rule entitled ``Revised National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System Permit Regulations and Effluent Limitation
Guidelines for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations in Response to
Waterkeeper Decision Proposed Rule.'' As initially published in the
Federal Register on June 30, 2006, written comments on the proposed
rulemaking were to be submitted to EPA on or before August 14, 2006 (a
45-day public comment period). Since publication, EPA has received
several requests for additional time to submit comments. Therefore, the
public comment period is being extended for 15 days and will now end on
August 29, 2006.
DATES: Comments must be received on or before August 29, 2006.
