Current Projects and Research

  • Conducting research on biological control of saltcedar (Tamarix spp.) in Southwestern rangelands;

  • Investigation of host-range and biological testing of candidate biological control insects and their responses to host-plant compounds;

  • Development of methods to culture insects that are free from parasites and pathogens so populations are suitable for field release;

  • Study of biocontrol agent development in the field to improve survival and identify problem areas for establishment of agents;
