Research Project:
Monitoring and Evaluating Water Resources in Central Oklahoma Watersheds
Location: Great Plains Agroclimate and Natural Resources Research Unit
Project Number: 6218-13000-010-05
Project Type:
Specific Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Feb 01, 2008
End Date: Jan 31, 2013
Objective:
The objective is to provide a database on stream flow in sub watersheds of the Little Washita River Experimental Watershed, and stream flow and water quality of the Fort Cobb Lake Watershed.
Approach:
Several agricultural reservoirs and streams in the Little Washita River and Fort Cobb Lake watersheds in central Oklahoma will be monitored for water height in the impoundments and stream flow. Measurements are made on a continuous basis. Water quality samples will be collected during high and low slow periods at stream gauging sites in the Fort Cobb watershed. Data are quality processed, analyzed, and archived. Data are used in hydrologic analyses and with environmental and water resource models.
