Milliken's Live Oak Complex Earns a "STAR" for Safety and Health
OSHA Acting Assistant Secretary Jonathan L. Snare Will Present the Award Jan. 11

ATLANTA -- The U.S. Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will recognize Milliken's Live Oak Complex, LaGrange, Ga., for achieving excellence in its safety and health program. The award will be presented during a ceremony Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the complex.

The La Grange facility has achieved "Star" status in OSHA's prestigious Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). OSHA Acting Assistant Secretary Jonathan L. Snare will present a Star-VPP flag and certificate to Milliken employees during the ceremony.

"Approval for the Star Voluntary Protection Program is a strong endorsement of the continued dedication demonstrated by Milliken and its employees to workplace safety and health," said Snare. "The programs developed at this complex can serve as models for other companies."

The Voluntary Protection Program is open to companies that incorporate comprehensive safety and health programs into their total management systems and have injury and illness rates below their industry's national average.
