By means of a model-based approach, problems are examined relating to nonresponse in the collection of data on income; new approaches and how they work are set forth. The purpose of this article is to describe work that has so far been completed to achieve our goal of imputing missing income using a model-based approach. Experimental data using imputed income values are forthcoming.
