Hikers enjoy the panoramic view from the trail around the rim at Capulin Volcano.
Capulin Volcano is easily accessible by car to the rim of the crater. A one mile trail around the rim provides spectacular views of the entire volcanic field and a 0.2 mile trail allows visitors to hike to the bottom of the crater itself.

Did You Know?
The visitor center at Capulin Volcano National Monument was built in 1963 and remains the orginal building except for enclosing the porch to minimize heat loss.
