General Laborer
Position Description
The USDA-ARS Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory seeks a highly motivated, responsible individual to assist the grounds and maintenance department as a general laborer, summer employment may continue each summer until college graduation. The incumbent's duties will consist of lawn and flower bed care, tree and hedge trimming, weed control, and other grounds maintenance projects. The incumbent may also have other duties that include painting, cleaning, and assisting other maintenance personnel with various projects. The incumbent must have the skills and knowledge to operate push and riding mowers, hedge trimmers, clippers, handsaws, and other hand and power tools. The incumbent must be responsible, able to work with others, and able to take instructions to assignments. The work environment is mainly outdoors working on the grounds and in shelter belts, but there is also some indoor work depending upon the weather and various projects.
The incumbent must be currently enrolled in college and must present proof of enrollment to the employer. A current transcript will be accepted as proof. Wages may be from $8-9hr. depending upon experience.
