Question: How many women are in the labor force?

Answer: Labor force is defined as all persons age 16 and over working or looking for work. A person is employed if he or she is working for pay.

In 2007, 70,988,000 women were in the civilian labor force, 67,792,000 of whom were employed.

More labor force statistics for women are available from the Current Population Survey published by DOL's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
