St. Louis, Missouri - The U.S. Department of
Labor will host a free employer workshop called “Understanding Your
Responsibilities under ERISA and USERRA” on November 29 at the Robert
A. Young Federal Building, 1222 Spruce Street, Room 2.206 (Auditorium)
in St. Louis.
Participants will receive an introduction to and
overview of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)
including some basics information about pension and health plan
administration. Also, there will be information about COBRA, the
Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act and the Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act known as HIPAA.
Representatives from the Veterans’ Employment and
Training Service will explain the requirements of the Uniformed Services
Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). USERRA is the law that
protects the employment, reemployment rights and certain
employment-based benefits of veterans, reservists, guardsmen, and
returning active duty personnel.
Registration is required for this half-day session
and space is available on a first-come basis. A registration form is
