Washington, DC - The first meeting of the 2006
Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans will be
held Friday, May 5 at 1:45 p.m. in the Secretary’s Conference Room,
S-2508, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue, NW.
At the meeting, new council members will be sworn in,
council leadership will be introduced, the assistant secretary of labor
for employee benefits security will provide an issues update, and 2006
council topics will be selected. Persons wishing to present testimony or
submit written statements should contact Larry Good, executive

The ERISA Advisory Council consists of 15 members
appointed to staggered three-year terms by the Secretary of Labor to
advise on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans
governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. The members
represent the general public, employers, employee organizations and the
fields of insurance, corporate trust, investment management, investment
counseling, accounting and actuarial counseling.
