Issuance Status

As of January 2008, nearly all initial operating permits (approximately 99%) have been issued nationwide. Nationally, every year there are about 100 new sources required to obtain initial permits and about 3,000 sources required to obtain renewal permits.

To determine the permit issuance status of a particular facility, please contract the appropriate permitting authority (State, local, or Tribal permitting authority, or EPA Region) with jurisdiction for the facility.
