Research Project: Development and Testing of Baits for Controlling Wireworm in Potatoes

Objective:
To test various natural products formulations for attractiveness to wireworm pests of potatoes, with long-term aims being to develop a synthetic bait.

Approach:
We will assay products for long-distance attractiveness using an olfactometer. Feeding stimulants will be tested by applying extracts of products to filter paper, and monitoring biting response by wireworms. Documents Trust with WA Potato Commission. Log 32763.
