Greening Government Procurement

The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Executive Order 13101 require the government to purchase items containing recovered (recycled) materials to the maximum extent possible on certain items. U.S. EPA, as the lead agency in this effort, provides information to assist in accomplishing this requirement.

Executive Order 13101 provides for Executive agencies to go beyond CPG and adopt Environmentally Preferred Purchasing (EPP). To learn more about EPP, go to www.epa.gov/oppt/epp.
