National Park Legacy Program
First -Twelfth Grades

Click here to find out how you can request National Park Legacy program for your classroom.

The National Park Legacy program offers an opportunity for students to explore national parks from their classrooms. The teacher-led program combines a supplied worksheet with official park brochures which require the students to discover the unique geographic and cultural features protected in our national parks.

The multi-disciplinary worksheets are targeted for grades one through twelve. Students will be guided through an adventure of discovery about national parks, natural science, geography, history, and themselves.

The program requires no additional instructor training and can be requested at any time. We supply an activity guide, worksheets, and national park guides to 10 - 15 units located throughout the United States.

You may order the Legacy program for your school. You may also comment on a Legacy program you have completed.

You can take this opportunity to order the Legacy Program. Just click below or e-mail us with your request.

Backbone trail hikes lead to views of mountains, canyons, and the Pacific Ocean.

Did You Know?
Piece by piece, a trail is forging its way along the "backbone" of the recreation area. California State Parks took the first step toward a 65-mile Backbone Trail in 1978. With 5 miles left to go, single track trails and fireroads will unite this patchwork of public parklands from east to west.
