Agenda:

1.0   Welcome and introductions – Chairman Robert Solomon

2.0   Consider a new definition for the term “emergency transportable housing” to ensure that the advisory committee’s recommendations are appropriately applied to units within the committee’s scope.

2.1  Background.  The unit subcommittee developed the definition below which was subsequently modified during the committee meeting on January 25, 2008.  Both proposals are below:

Subcommittee Proposal:
106.5 Defined Terms.  Emergency Transportable Housing.  Housing designed as a residence or that can be occupied on an emergency basis that is transportable in one section without structural modification to and from a disaster area designated by the authority having jurisdiction for the duration of said designation.

Committee Modification:
106.5 Defined Terms.  Emergency Transportable Housing.  A one or two piece prefabricated structure not exceeding 14 feet in width in its set-up mode and that is transportable in one single section or by a single transport vehicle and that can be set-up and installed on a temporary site without structural modification.  Such structures include, but not limited to, travel trailers, park models, and manufactured housing.
