ESI Data in Geodatabase Format
Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) atlases began to include GIS data in the geodatabase format in 2006. Some older atlases have since been converted to this format.
You can download the geodatabase files from this page for free, or you can purchase a CD/DVD of the ESI atlas and get the data in all of the available ESI formats. (The geodatabase data is also included in the downloads from the NOS Data Explorer site. Follow the Downloading ESIs link at top for instructions.)
You may also want to download the latest version of the ESI toolbar, a suite of tools designed to assist you in viewing and querying geodatabase data in ESRI's ArcMap 9.x.
Download ESI Geodatabase Files
You can download the latest geodatabase files by clicking on the regional links below:
Each download includes the geodatabase files and an MXD file, which displays the data in ArcMap 9.x using standard ESI colors and symbology and includes established links to the ESI data tables. (Just drag the region folder onto your hard drive from the geodatabase directory.)
These downloads are in a zipped (compressed) format that is self-extracting, so the files should uncompress automatically. (If they don't, try WinZip.)
