New Performance Track Members, October 2007
A medical center, a steel mill, and a municipal wastewater facility are just three of the 55 new facilities to have joined the ranks of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Environmental Performance Track.
About Performance Track
Performance Track is a partnership program to recognize and reward private and public facilities that demonstrate strong environmental performance beyond current requirements. The 497 Performance Track members have set three-year goals for continuous improvements in environmental performance beyond their legal requirements, have internal systems in place to manage their environmental impacts, and work within their communities.
In October 2007, EPA announced its 14th Round of Performance Track members. Together, the program's nearly 500 members have set some 2,000 goals for environmental improvements, many of which will achieve environmental results in areas that are not covered by regulations, such as energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, or water use.
