Draft High-Efficiency Flushing Urinal Specification
EPA issued a draft High-Efficiency Flushing Urinal Specification
in January 2009. With the announcement of this draft specification,
manufacturers, retailers, and distributors that produce or sell
high-efficiency pressurized flushing devices and/or flushing urinal
fixtures are invited to join the program, provided the manufacturer
produces labeled products within one year of signing a partnership
agreement with EPA.
Interested parties had the opportunity to provide comments on the
draft High-Efficiency Flushing Urinal Specification until March
9, 2009. On February 5, 2009, EPA held a call with stakeholders
to discuss the draft High-Efficiency Flushing Urinal Specification.
Notification of Intent
EPA issued a notification of intent to develop a specification
for high-efficiency urinals in May 2008:
