Duke Power uses an integrated approach for managing vegetation. This process involves careful pruning, selective herbicidal application and occasional tree removal. Through their commitment to PESP, Duke Power is working with the Edison Electric Institute Vegetation Management Taskforce to implement a strategy for reducing pesticide risk. Their strategy specifically addresses integrated vegetation management in their rights-of-way transmission lines.
