Objective:
Discover, collect and ship biological control agents indentified as high priority by the National Program Staff. Current targets include Saltcedar, Leafy spurge, Giant reed, Asian longhorn beetle, Formosan termite, Japanese beetle, Soybean aphid, Wheat stem sawfly, Canada thistle, Gypsy moth, Olive fruit fly, Emerald ash borer, and Brown marmorated stinlbug.
Approach:
Provide support for foreign exploration through cooperative agreements to Biological Control Specialists. Collections will be received into official U.S. quarantine facilities after APHIS approval; biolgoical control agents will be provided to cooperating scientists for field release.
