Research Project: Germplasm Variation and Reproduction of Allium and Daucus Populations in Uzbekistan

Objective:
Perform replicated field tests in two locations to determine how the diversity found in wild garlic compares to that of cultivated crop in terms of plant growth, appearance, and storage.

Approach:
Both in Uzbekistan and the U.S.: Identified and collected plants from wild garlic populations. Propagate clonally in both locations. Test individual plants in the field with follow up lab evaluation as appropriate. Exchange materials and retest under the cooperator's conditions.
