Ostrobotnia, Helsinki

Commercial Service (CS) Finland hosted, together with the Discover America Committee of Finland, a highly successful Business Promotion Seminar on October 23, 2008, in Helsinki’s famous Ostrobotnia Hall.  Commercial Specialist Merja Poikolainen led the preparation efforts for this business event.  U.S. Ambassador Barbara Barrett delivered the welcoming address, prepared by Regional Senior Commercial Officer Brian McCleary.  The Embassy's Consular Section briefed on U.S. consular and border protection matters.  Almost 100 persons representing the travel industry attended the Seminar, the only major event in Finland specifically promoting the United States as a travel destination for commerce.
